      <description>Kathleen Hubbard Stephens&lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt;Mrs. Stephens, of Huntersville, NC, died March 9, 2010. She was born on February 1, 1919 in Mecklenburg County to the late Fred Garfield Hubbard and Eula Russell Hubbard. She was married to the late Luther McCoy Stephens for 62 years. She was a life long member of Union Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, was church clerk and Vacation Bible School director. She retired from Belk Department Store after 35 years of service.&lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt;In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Neal McCoy Stephens and Fred Lee Stephens, two sisters, Athlene Hubbard and Clara Stephens Williams, four brothers, Frank, Clyde, James C. and Olin Hubbard.&lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt;She is survived by one sister, Mozelle Busto and husband John, two brothers, Vernon Hubbard and wife Betty, Herman Hubbard and wife Alease, sister-in-law, Lois Hubbard and many nieces and nephews.&lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt;The family would like to extend thanks to all that provided such wonderful care and comfort to Kathleen during her stay at Olde Knox Commons.&lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt;Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.&lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt;Funeral services will be held at Raymer Funeral Home at 3PM Friday, March 12, 2010 with Rev. Dale Shields officiating. Interment will follow at Gilead A.R.P. Church.       <description>Mrs. Jane Caldwell Reid, 58, of Cornelius passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, from complications of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), a challenge she accepted daily with dignity and grace.  Jane will always be remembered for her strong faith, her gentle kindness, her eager willingness to help others, her love for her family and friends, and her courageous ability to embrace and “accept the things she could not change” with a steadfast positive attitude.  &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Jane was born August 28, 1951 in Mooresville , NC , daughter of the late William Paul and the late Sarah Sherrill Caldwell.  Jane grew up in Cornelius and attended North Mecklenburg area schools.  She attended Eastern Carolina University in Greenville , North Carolina .  She worked in Boone , NC , Monroe , NC , and Davidson , NC in various administrative jobs where she excelled and gained many friends. &lt;br/&gt;Jane was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Cornelius , NC .  One of her favorite ministries was the Appalachian Ministry Magical Mountain Christmas, where she and her family served the needy communities of West Virginia for many years.  Jane participated in many Bible Study groups; her favorite was Small Group who met weekly in her home until her death.  Anyone fortunate enough to know Jane shares the belief that her relationships with God, her family, and her many friends were most important to her.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;After a courtship that began in high school, Jane married her best friend and love of her life, Wayne Reid, in July of 1971.  Together they established a home filled with love and three children.  Jane is survived by her husband, Wayne; her daughters Ann Reid Ballew&lt;br/&gt;and husband, Scott of Huntersville , NC ; Katy Reid and her fiancé, Justin King of Charlotte , NC ; and her son Sam of the home and Eastern Carolina University .  Her two&lt;br/&gt;Granddaughters, Lauren and Kaylie Ballew were the light of Jane’s life and brought “Nana” much happiness. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Jane is also survived by Alice Caldwell of Cornelius, Harry and Carol Reid of Cornelius, Winston and Nancy Reid of Augusta, Georgia, Randall Brown of Huntersville, Tom and Jackie Brinksneader of Boonville, Indiana, Doug and Evadeen Vick of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, nephews and nieces from four states, additional extended family members, and a host of  friends. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Samuel Caldwell. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;A service to celebrate Jane’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010, at Mt. Zion Methodist Church , 19600 Zion Street , Cornelius , North Carolina .  Friends may visit the family following the service.  Interment will be at a later date.   &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;The Angel Wings Mission was formed to assist Jane in the many physical challenges she faced.  Every team member whether they knew Jane personally or not will attest to the fact that Jane returned more to them through her grateful heart and positive gentle spirit than they were able to give her.  This mission also helps others in the community.    &lt;br/&gt;In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Angel Wings Mission, C/O Mt. Zion Methodist Church , 19600 Zion Street , Cornelius , North Carolina 28031.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Arrangements are in the care of Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville , &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;North Carolina . </description>

He was born on September 23, 1946 in Charlotte to the late James and Frances Brannon.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Survivors include his wife Lorene; daughter, Paula Gerrard and husband Jeffrey of Martinsville, VA; brothers, James, Doug and Tony; sister, Nancy McAuley; grandchildren, Brianna (and husband Brandon Graves) and Colt (and fiancé Hellem); and great-granddaughter Journey.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.       <description>Mr. Bill Smith age 80 of Davidson, NC died March 3, 2010 at Churchill Assisted Living.  Born August 29, 1929 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Brack Smith and Virgie Stilwell Smith.  Bill was a graduate of Harrisburg High School, a  MP in the US Air Force at Andrews Air Force Base and retired after 42 years as a truck driver with Carbonic Industries where he was recipient of the Million Mile Safety Award.&lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt;Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday March 6 at Davidson United Methodist Church with Dr. Jody Seymour officiating. Burial will follow at Roberta United Methodist Church in Concord, NC.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.&lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt;Survivors are his daughter; Betty Foy and husband Sam of Salisbury, daughter-in-law; Becky Smith of Concord, sisters; Margaret Kennerly of Morganton and Mary Virginia Lewis and husband Harrison of Harrisburg, grandchildren; Rachael and Braxton Smith, Jennifer and Ricky Foy, Laura, Bennett and Blake Goodman and several great grandchildren.&lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt;In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Kennerly Smith, sons, David and Michael Smith and daughter, Vernie Rainey.&lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt;The family extends a special thank you to the members of Davidson United Methodist Church, the staff of Churchill Assisted Living and Hospice of Iredell County for their loving caring and kindness during Bill’s declining health.&lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt;Memorials may be made to Davidson United Methodist Church, P.
